November 10, 2010 - Federal district judge Ricardo Martinez entered an order today directing the United States to permit a family of five to return to the country following the denial of their request to reenter the United States on August 30, 2010. The lead plaintiff, Rashid Abdur-Rahman, is a highly-skilled software engineer and has lived in the United States for over 10 years. Judge Martinez gave the United States until December 10 to return the family, but the Government is apparently considering an appeal. Such an appeal would further compound the hardship suffered by the family, which includes two school-aged children.
